As lockdown restrictions continue to ease, it's still not quite the same, is it?
Swindon libraries are making valiant efforts and the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre will re-open on Tuesday August 25 albeit with strict Covid induced regulations - check website re-booking arrangements.
Gone are those carefree days of just turning up and browsing. But there are online places where you can log on and browse to your heart's content - and one of these is the fantastic Swindon Local Studies flickr account.
It was here that I found an image of Radnor Street Cemetery I hadn't seen before. The focus of the photo is clearly the view across Swindon. Taken c1930s the photo has been donated by Mr. R.L. Ellis who retains the copyright, so please look and share but don't snaffle it!
The view is spectacular but as ever my interest is in the graves and the bright, white headstones. In all my hundreds of photos of the cemetery I don't think I have captured this exact view, so that's on my list of things to do. But I can see the blooming great tree next to the Perkins' family grave!
And if you're missing our guided cemetery walks, pop across to our Facebook page for some virtual graveside talks.
